Spaces that hold meaning.

Vajragiri began with a simple frustration - that most homes in India are designed for a brochure, not a life. We started in 2014 with a single 2BHK in Banashankari, and a stubborn belief that interiors should serve people, not the other way around.

Our Story

A studio near Electronic City,
built for South Bangalore.

"Vajragiri" - Sanskrit for diamond mountain - names what we strive to make: interiors that are precise like a cut stone, and as enduring as the land they sit on.

Founded by a husband-and-wife team of architects and a third-generation furniture maker, we set up our first studio in 2014. Today our 30-person team spans design, production, project management, and an in-house joinery shop, all within reach of Chandapura-Anekal Road.

We've stayed deliberately local. Every project we take on is within a 20 km radius of Electronic City so a senior designer is always 30 to 40 minutes from your door. That is the only way we know how to deliver craft without losing intimacy.

What We Believe

Four convictions that shape every project.

Function first, beauty second

The most stunning kitchen is the one you reach for, not the one you photograph. We design from how you actually live - then make it beautiful.

Materials over moodboards

Pinterest moves fast. Marble doesn't. We choose materials that survive Bangalore's humidity, your toddler, and twenty years of dinner parties.

Timelines that hold

98% of our projects deliver on the date we promised at signing. We staff our own factory so a vendor delay never becomes your delay.

One studio, one bill

Design, production, project management, after-care - all under Vajragiri. You get one point of contact, one warranty, one set of standards.

The Founders

The people behind Vajragiri.

Two partners, two disciplines, one studio. The studio’s design language, production standards and client relationships all trace back to them.

Founder & Principal Designer

Vajragiri Shashidhar

MBA (Production) · Dayanand Sagar, Bangalore

Shashidhar founded Vajragiri Interiors in 2015 after his MBA at Dayanand Sagar, Bangalore, with a specialisation in production. His conviction, then and now, is that a home is built at the factory long before it is installed at the site - and that the discipline of production is what separates a well-designed interior from a beautifully delivered one.

He leads design direction, factory operations and material sourcing across every Vajragiri project.

Partner & Head of Projects

Vivekanand Moorti

MS · University of Hull, UK

Vivekanand completed his MS at the University of Hull, UK, and spent six years as a Project Engineer across industries before taking a decisive detour after COVID and joining Vajragiri Interiors as partner in 2020.

Since then it has been a joyous venture - every project brings its own set of challenges, and his engineering mindset is what keeps our on-site execution predictable, on time, and quietly precise.

Milestones

A decade of careful growth.

We've grown slowly on purpose. Every senior designer was hired only after their predecessor had time to mentor them. The result: continuity you can feel walking through any project we've built.

2015

Studio founded

Shashidhar starts Vajragiri Interiors after his MBA in Production. First 2 BHK in Banashankari: “we want a home, not a showroom.”

2017

In-house joinery in Peenya

Bought our first CNC machine. Stopped depending on third-party vendors for cabinetry.

2020

Vivekanand joins as partner

Post-COVID pivot from six years of project engineering. Adds site-execution discipline and grows the studio’s commercial practice.

2023

Sarjapur Road expansion

Opened a satellite production team dedicated to the Sarjapur - Bellandur - Whitefield corridor.

2026

450+ homes, 12 commercial spaces

And the same founding team still reviews every concept before it leaves the studio.
